I am back in action after taking a much needed year off from this newsletter to take care of family, myself, and focus on other private practice things. I’ve finally joined the rest of the bloggers! Whether you are new here or you’ve been reading, I’m grateful for you.

Decolonizing Therapy, By Jennifer Mullan, PsyD: I am half way through and find Dr. Mullan’s call to action one that was missing from my own graduate program. Dr. Mullan discusses the need for therapists to understand the oppressive roots in modern psychotherapy and how politics are not separate from being in a therapeutic space. I also see this book as a tool for those in therapy who plan to keep their therapist but may want their therapist to understand historical trauma better.
Oh and good news! If you only look at the bad news, you will begin to believe that only bad things are happening. I’ve been seeing an increase in climate grief and anxiety and personally relate to these overwhelming feelings. I will be making a point to share positive climate news in the newsletter moving forward and highly encourage you to look for this news as well if you are experiencing this.
